Tourism in the Impulse Region
From cultural gems to recreational nature reserves, the region offers unique diversity. Find out more about our future plans to further develop the region’s potential.
The Impulse Region offers a variety of tourist attractions, which are mainly due to the region’s important role in cultural history. In Erfurt, Weimar, Jena and Weimarer Land, tourism has a higher value added effect and impact on employment than the Thuringia-wide average.
The Impulse Region’s various locations address different tourist target groups with their diverse offers. While the guest structure in Jena is characterised by a high proportion of business travellers, the tourism supply and demand in Weimar are strongly influenced by the cultural richness of the area. Weimarer Land’s focus is on spa and recreational tourism. In Erfurt, the guest structure is characterised by a mixture of different reasons for travel from cultural to business travel tourism in connection with trade fairs. The Impulse Region has synergies and complementary profiles in the tourism sector thanks to its wide range of offers.
The “Die Impulsregion” association wants to leverage the region’s potential in tourism even more intensively in future. This relates to uniform and high-quality standards, a link between nature-based tourism and urban tourism and the further development of cultural tourism.
